ArtFelt System -

ArtFelt is a revolutionary new way to produce felted projects using your tumble drier. The process combines needle and wet felting with the use of the patented ‘ArtFelt’ paper to produce pieces of simple felt or intricate designs that you previously would not have been able to produce with other felting methods. Let your imagination run wild, your projects can be as thin as paper, or sturdy enough to make unlined bags! The only limits are with your imagination.


How can this work?

Well there are four basic steps to creating your ‘Easy Felt’ project.

Design, you decide what it is you wish to create and cut the Easy Felt paper to size.

Create, tack the Schoppel roving and or pencil roving to the paper with the felting needle. This is where you design your fabric, thicker layers will produce thicker fabric. You should take care to overlap the roving slightly when tacking it down to prevent holes forming during the wet felting process. (Should you wish to have negative spaces in your piece just leave a gap).

Felt, you saturate your project with soapy water, roll it between two layers of plastic (cling) film and pop it into the tumble dryer. It is the combination of water and agitation in the dryer that causes the project to shrink slightly and felt.

Rinse, remove from the dryer, you will see that the project has felted and the paper is still attached. Place your project in the sink and pour boiling water over the paper to dissolve it. Rinse with cold water and leave flat to dry. SIMPLE
